Audio Bullys - Ego War

Released 24th March 2003
Think: The Streets (lyrical) + The Chems (bass lines & beats) = Audio Bullys.
Like their Brummy counter-parts they speak only the truth, tales of mates not paying back tick & general day to day issues spoken like a true Londoner. They comprise of West London duo Tom Dinsdale (24) and Simon Franks (22). The pair went to school together before joining forces in their home-made studios.
Their lyrics and style are simple but very incredibly effective. The bass lines, like no others… these guys definitely know how to rock a dance floor with their brand of what's being termed 'Hooligan House'. We saw them at the Boutique in Brighton the other week alongside Jon Carter and they completely stole the show, high energy with an obvious old-skool 'rave' kinda style, easily the best artists we've seen out in 2003!
Tunes on the "Ego War" album include the debut single "We Don't Care", "Way Too Long", "Snake", "Real Life" & "I Got To Your House" all include their trademark urban sound and basslines. If you're looking for something fresh and exciting, look no further...
Even Cassius’s zany Philippe Zdar is a huge fan - he compared them to Daft Punk, Prodigy, and Wu-Tang Clan, in his poetic way he stated "of the uniform world of musique we live in, the singularity of Audio Bullys' sound is a golden gift. They sound like no-one else".
When all those around are proclaiming the death of the music industry, Audio Bullys are two kids still refreshingly hooked on both buying and making records. On taking a short lifetime's worth of music and recycling it into the freshest sound we'll get this year, Audio Bullys are the ghost of Ian Taylor getting down at Twice As Nice, the sound of The Sex Pistols if they played the Ministry rather than the 100 Club. It's the sound of this summer in London City at least. It's real life.
