Benny Benassi presents The Bizz - Satisfaction

Benny Benassi - Satisfaction image

Released 14th July 2003

Following on from the phenomenal number 1 smash "Loneliness" by Tomcraft, Ministry Of Sound's Data Records release the sub-woofer blowing electro charged sounds of "Satisfaction" by Benny Benassi presenting The Bizz.  The Bizz provide the vocals and are a boy/girl outfit comprising of Paul French and Violita who apparently enjoy wearing make up and looking stern in photo's... hmm

Mr Benassi was a massive fan of the eighties electro scene, inspiration from acts like Kraftwerk and pioneering musique concrete artists such as Georgio Moroder.  "When I began my career," he explains, "I was a massive fan of 80s electronica, and it's great to see that sound becoming so popular again.  Clubbing was becoming a bit tired but now the dance floors are full of energy again.  Everywhere I play 'Satisfaction' the reaction is crazy and its great to see such a wide range of other DJs feeling it too."

If you've seen it you'll understand  - we have to mention the video, picture it if you will... four, maybe five scantily clad (crop top and hot pants) but perfectly toned gorgeous women, sweating in time to the hypnotic beat whilst operating heavy machinery like an angle-grinder and a chain-saw etc... ahhh B&Q never had so much sex appeal.

Steve Murano's crazy ass twisted techno stomper is a combination of more sounds crammed in than I thought possible on one track, I think it should come with a government health warning like this "WARNING - Infection may result in dancing like a mad-man with gritted teeth screaming YEAH! at the top of your voice!".

The experienced American Robbie Rivera tones it down a little with a slightly tribal warped remix - easy listening compared to Murano's.

Radio Slave (aka Stompaphunk's Serge Santiago + Matt Edwards) come up with a funky kinda punk-house mix.  It's all very snazzy with a more gentle mellow rhythm.

According to Sir Norman Cook "Biggest track of the year so far - this year's Azzido Da Bass" and who could argue with that?  Hailing from Reggio Emilia, a lovely Italian village about 100k south of Milan where this tune was produced, arranged and mixed by his cousin Alle and the man himself Benny Benassi at their Off Limits Recording Studios in Italy.  Want to work with Benny. address for demos featured in our "No Matter What You Do" review.
