Every summer needs a feel good anthem and when the Freemasons’ dancefloor-smash, "Love On My Mind" first appeared at the beginning of the year it had all the right ingredients - a classic disco loop from Jackie Moore’s "This Time Baby" combined with an inspired vocal sample from an old Tina Turner tune. The result is disco anthem of gargantuan proportions and with its theme of post-break up empowerment, "Love On My Mind" is fast becoming a modern day "I Will Survive".

It was first noticed by Pete Tong and Judge Jules who proceeded to play the record every week on Radio 1 for two months. During the Miami Music Festival in March it was the most tipped record to be the ‘tune of the summer’ on Radio 1’s website, and so it has proved to be, pumping out of every bar and club from Ibiza to Magaluf.

The Freemasons are Russell Small and James Wiltshire. Russell is no stranger to the top ten - his previous band Phats & Small enjoyed three top ten hits, including the multi million selling ‘Turn Around’ in 1999. Russ & James discovered Amanda singing down their local karaoke bar. "We were just blown away by her voice," says Russell "She’s got that soulful thing going on so we approached her and she was really up for it. It took two hours from start to finish once Amanda was on board."

Next stop was the pub, Russell and James were sat in their local, The Freemasons toying around with a name for their duo. "We were having a drink and we were really stuck as to what to call ourselves," says Russell. "The landlord had said if the track got to # 1 he’d give us free drinks for life - we immediately shook on it so it seemed only fair to name ourselves after the pub."

Amanda Wilson is embarking on a nationwide six week PA tour which includes all the top clubs as well as the main stages of Big Gay Out in Finsbury Park, the Pride festival in Brighton and Radio 1 in Ibiza.
