Released 8th January 2007

Fresh from their acclaimed remix of Beyonce’s "Déjà Vu", which Radio 1 loved so much they played instead of the original, Brighton’s favourite house duo get set to release the first single from their eagerly anticipated debut album. Released on Loaded Records, the album debut track "Rain Down Love" is a sweat-soaked slice of disco house, dripping with Sideah Garrett’s honeyed vocals.

The Walken Remix maintains the funk of the original mix, lacing it with a Daft Punk style chunky bass, while the Electric Vox mix loops the vocals and injects them with a riff that wouldn’t sound out of place on a Mylo record. Men of the moment Phunkk Mob kick things up a notch unleashing a mix that combines an old acid house sensibility with a modern electro twist and both the Original and Phunkk Mobb mixes are also available as dubs. The 2006 Vocal Mix brings the proceedings to a close, adding a beautiful Balearic guitar riff, which sits perfectly alongside the vocals.

"I’ve known Sideah since her Brand New Heavies days," continues James Wiltshire, one half of the Freemasons alongside studio partner Russell Small.  "We actually recorded the vocal a while ago, when I was in LA. I’ll always remember the recording because it was in the same studio that Michael Jackson recorded Thriller in. That and the fact that we ran up the most enormous sushi bill I have ever seen when we went out to eat! I held on to the vocal waiting for the right project to use it with and when we began putting the album together I knew it would be the perfect fit."

Over the last eighteen months the Freemasons have become one of the most in demand remix and production teams in dance music. Some of the biggest artists in the world have been clamouring for their golden touch and it’s rare to find a dance compilation that doesn’t feature at least one of their releases. Their infectious debut, the anthemic "Love On My Mind", has become synonymous with the sort of nights that leave you still smiling at sunrise. Whether it’s pumping out of a car stereo or a club soundsystem, Amanda Wilson’s vocals and that riff combine to create an instantly recognisable classic.

Infamously named after a Brighton pub close to the pair’s studio, the lads have incredibly only been working together in this guise for two years. They are now set to release their highly-anticipated debut album "Shakedown". Over two CDs they bring together their biggest releases to date, blending them with their hottest remixes and a wealth of new and unreleased material.

"Most of the album was recorded in our studio in Hove [actually]," explains James.  "It’s basically a record of two years of our lives - minus the weekends! When it came to making our first album, we always wanted to offer the best of our remix and production work - and that's exactly what we're proud to present."
