| The Funktion Rooms - Club Review
Already well established as the ultimate music venue on the South Coast. With flocks of eager clubbers and music fans heading to Eastbourne each weekend, it has superseded all expectations; and with the party season in full swing they have announced many more top quality parties to look forward too.
Each club includes it’s own toilets, DJ booth, cloakroom and bars allowing for events of all sizes, styles and vibes.
Funktion One soundsystems are installed throughout and the lighting and live rigs are of the highest standard. A refreshing and well deserved injection into the local clubland.
Then comes The Gallery (cap: 400), a stunning industrial space with a mezzanine balcony over looking the main floor, High-level podiums for glamorous dancers loom over the dancefloor. The DJ booth sits high above the crowd for that big room effect - similar, in my humble opinion, to that of Ibiza superclub Amnesia. Head of Choons Paul Hillyer was joined by another Brighton resident (and also a contributor for us) Seamus Haji! Needless to say there wasn't a stationary body-part in the house!
Moving down and The Sub Club (cap: 130) is a Fabric-esque underground club space with raw brickwork, low ceilings and an intimate dance space. In a tardis-like way The Funktion Rooms is a versatile jigsaw puzzle of space that really does offer something for everyone.
All in all an amazing night at one hot venue! Wicked people, great atmosphere and a star-studded line-up - just the way we like it. |
