Hed Kandi - The Mix 2006

Released 5th December 2005
Hed Kandi are proud to present "The Mix 2006", the follow up to the pivotal The Mix 50 and a celebration of the legendary brand’s 5 million worldwide sales. The Mix 2006 sees three of Hed Kandi’s best-loved series joining together to pay homage to the past, present and future of the label.
The dazzling Disco Heaven kicks off the anthology where the vibrant sunshine of Bob Sinclar’s Ibiza floor-filler "Love Generation" nestles alongside US soulstress Chanel’s forthcoming smash "My Life" which has been given the re-rub treatment courtesy of Grant Nelson and Seamus Haji. Recent hits from the likes of Basment Jaxx and current indie favourite Hard-Fi are given salacious dance-floor makeovers.
Twisted Disco drips with the series’ distinctive sounds and slides us into Kandi’s darker confines, kicking off with the dense ebb of the Paradise Soul Remix of Sucker DJ’s "Lotta Loving" before Juliet plunges us into a twisted snyth fest with F*ck Me I’m Famous Remix of "Avalon". Elsewhere Tiga remixes "washing Up" into a Frankenstein’s monster of a hit, sampling Woz Not Woz’s "Wheel Me Out" and regenerating it into a club classic.
The final submission is a bonus disc of Back To Love magic with Electribe 101’s "Talking With Myself" delivering a dose of balmy Balearic house before Marshall Jefferson drops the classic anthem "Move Your Body". The lascivious stylings of Raw Silk’s "Do It To The Music" round off the retrospective of the well-loved series.
