It can honestly be said that House Music Awards are back purely by popular demand! The success of last year’s spectacular inaugural Awards took everyone by surprise - the hosts included! - and it seems as though acceptance and support from industry, media and punters alike has quickly cemented the House Music Awards into the UK’s dance scene. And now its back!

HMA 2005 kicked off with a very personal campaign to support Make Poverty History. Everyone from Pete Tong, Darren Emerson & Timo Mass to Bob Sinclar, Deep Dish and Ashley Beedle have been sporting the House Music Awards / Make Poverty History White Bands since Miami WMC. HMA was proud to support the campaign and thanks everyone who came on board to support too.

But back to important stuff!! The House Music Awards 2005 Nominations…

Thousands and thousands of people of all ages and from all over the globe registered and voted online from March until the end of July. Find out exactly what they had to say in the Nominations listing below. Voting has now officially begun and runs until midnight on Thursday 27th October. And what about the party?

House Music 2005 will take place on Thursday 17th November, at the Hammersmith Palais.

Hammersmith Palais is not just a venue - it’s a heritage. And it has been a creative epicentre for entertainment since its establishment in 1918. Originally christened the Palais de Danse to introduce Jazz to Europe, the Palais changed its name in the 70’s and became a hotbed for Punk Rock, Ska and Reggae. The Clash named one of their most famous songs after the venue: "(White Man) in the Hammersmith Palais". The 80's and 90's saw all the biggest British bands headline with unforgettable appearances from the likes of the Sex Pistols, The Police, U2, Primal Scream, Oasis & Ian Brown. Now heading back to its ‘Danse’ roots, and with a brand-spanking new Funktion 1 Sound System, the Palais hosts the House Music Awards 2005. Dance all the way, baby!
