Housexy Spring 06 - mixed by Nick Bridges

Housexy Spring 06 image

Released 27th March 2006

When looking for the best in quality house you can always rely on the Housexy series to pull it out of the bag. Now three albums in, and over ten UK parties later, the latest glittering instalment of Housexy is here - and as always the soulful sounds have been pushed to new heights since Autumn 05!

To help kick out those winter blues Housexy Spring 06 will be spreading its combination of silky house and sexy production far and wide over the UK in the next few months. With residencies in Brighton’s Honeyclub, Portsmouth’s Tantrum and Southampton’s White House among other dates Housexy looks set to capture the UK by epic proportions… Why not catch Nick Bridges as head tour resident and friends Liquid People, The Beginnerz, Richard Murray, Bobby & Steve and many more as they spread the Housexy Sound!

Nick Bridges opens with the delightful soulful house remix by Reel People of Kloud 9’s "So Many Reasons", this is then followed by a double helping of Seamus & Haji vocal remixes (of Asle’s "Golden Sun" and the amazing Chanel "My Life"). Those unforgettable chords of Porno’s "Music… (Music) Power" get rehashed by Andy Van, going from old piano keys to new with Mayhem & Musaphia’s "Help Me Through" pushing on.

US house supremo David Morales teams up with Lea Lorien on "How Would You Feel?" for more incredible house vocals and filtered beats, right before heading for the downright, deep and dirty end of the scale with the reggae-fused, "Release The Pressure" by Red (the Tiger Stripes Remix). Picking it up again with some sexy, Latin strings and plenty of sing-along values in "Searching", the latest offering by the genius like Restless & Volatile. The first mix finishes up on the self-proclaimed, hugely popular "Electro-Retro" monster by Chris Lake.

CD2 opens with the delightful chords of "Speechless" by Mish Mash featuring the lovely Lois. Sublime vocals continue via Emma Ellis & Karime Kendra, and Messrs Martin Mayhem & Timmi Magic pump up the gorgeous girly disco on "I Need Your Lovin" featuring Elisabeth. Next up is the oldskool classic-sampling "Take Me Away" by Haji & Emmanuel again, this time Mr Stonebridge on the remix. Vintage tones continue with the whistle and horn posse on M’s Salsa Mix of Soul Purpose’s "Salsa House".

More sexy vocal garage remixes come in thick and fast with Aaron Smith feat Luvli on "Dancin" (the Soulshaker Remix) & Soul Flava feat Katherine Ellis "We Got Love" (Noir’s Xanadu Mix). Andrea - not the same bod behind Bucci Bag I presume - drops the chunkier "Time To Pray" leaving the Electro Mix of "Yeah Yeah" by Bodyrox to finish things off quite aptly.

A superb compilation which I’ll personally be hunting the back catalogue of, Housexy and Nick Bridges have truly captured and bottled their fabulous brand of uplifting and funky house grooves. An album full of funky, chunky, sexed up house music with tones of vocals - just hou we like it!
