The Loose Cannons Interview

Funky electro Superstar DJs Lord Fader & Kaiser Saucey, aka The Loose Cannons are linked to a long list of outstandingly acclaimed musical talent including Loose Cannons imageDogtown Clash and Kissy Sell Out to name just a few who have remixed several of the Cannon’s tracks.

Cute but quirky in both sense of humour and appearance, a funny remark is never too far away when these two are in town. The self-confessed style gurus quote musical influences ranging from a solid love of old hardcore, The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, UK Garage (circa 1990), DnB (c1997), hip-hop (c1990), Jackson (c1986), all of which add to their colourful personalities and DJ sets.

Since their 2004 debut release "Make The Face" (Island Records) it seems there’s just no stopping them, having recently toured with the pop disco divas Scissor Sisters, Goldie Looking Chain and Princess Superstar they’re certainly not short of admirers. Support has also been granted from Radio One supremo Pete Tong, Norman Jay MBE, the Audio Bullys, Todd Terry, the Plumps, Tim Sheridan and apparently even "Prince plays us in his bedroom!". Among their favourite clubland venues are Razmatazz in Barcelona, Sankey’s Soap (Manchester), Concorde 2 (Brighton), and as many festivals as their schedule allows.

Not only have they toured with such A-Listers, the duo also smashed it up at the Sony broadcast awards with a Bronze in the Special Music Category (of course!) for their Friday night Kiss FM show: "It’s nice to be broadcast legends! Terry Wogan is a legend, we wanna be [like] Terry!"

The show plays host to an eclectic mix of pumping electronic music each week, where thousands fine-tune into a rhythmic frequency that won’t stop London’s bodyrock. "Twas a combo of us, Kiss FM and our management," the boys explain how it al happened… "we wanted to create something that has a festival vibe." And believe us they have.

AfterLoose Cannons Logo image their recent return from the land of Oz, appearances at both Sydney 360 Festival and Perth’s InnerFesti saw them rock capacity crowds before their new Brighton club night appearances for Retoxt @ the Zap. What can I say? I’ve never seen DJs with so much love and energy for what they do, thus pouring onto the crowds, with dirty electro beats and blindingly colourful visuals.

Next up is a heavy roster of PR, Press and more unequivocal partying: "Well, the second album is coming out in July, ‘Muy Fuerte’, and we’re having a damn good sizzling sparkly launch party @ Sin in Hoxton Square."
