It seems like once every year or so you discover a young producer whose passion for music and genuine talent for production, really go way beyond the norm. Most producers nowadays appear to think that a few automated mouse clicks with some music software are enough to make a dance-record. Occasionally they are. Max Skiba however differs, this is a guy who simply can’t help but put his natural instinct for rhythm and melody into everything he does.

Last year in Dazig, Warsaw-based DJ and producer Arthur K introduced DJ Daniel Wang to Maximillian Skiba. Skiba, a 20-year-old university student was living in Sosnwiec, in the south of Poland. "Max was modest, humorous, and excited about a certain Arp synthesizer that he was about to purchase. When DJ Fetish from Berlin handed me Skiba’s record recently, I got excited too." said Wang.

The "Apple of Disco Rd" EP sounds like the best of past and present with clear, warm production, well-defined musical themes and a strong touch of individuality.

The first track "Safari" has plenty of organic sounds to ease you into this melodic piece. Funky kicks throughout enhance its spiritual scope, leaving a pleasantly raised eyebrow to all who bear witness.

Jazzy trance synths echo on the elevating "Violet Carnation". Groovy rhythms and drums kick roll on while powerful riffs twinkle like purple stars, just off M’s "Purple Hills".

Yet more stunning sounds protrude from "The Fog". Its gorgeous strings and keys are laced with some distinctly solid beats.

The elaborate melodies continue down "Apple Of Disco Rd". A happy little place with chimeful styles of electronica.

Max likes to drink beer, sleep and was inspired by Tabntra, Rinder & Lewis and Silver Apples when he produced this record. A favourite of Daniel Wang’s DJ sets amongst many others, Max Skiba is the new rising star from the land of Chopin.
