A Bugged Out Mix by Miss Kittin

A Bugged Out Mix by Miss Kittin image

Released 17th April 2006

Miss Kittin first appeared at Bugged Out in December 2001 as part of an International Deejay Gigolos party. Playing live with The Hacker she appeared stage right wrapped from head-to-toe in white swaddling bands, which, she eventually peeled off to reveal a black leather cat suit.

"The Bugged Out Mix" is her purfect aural blend, where Caroline delves deep into her record collection for ambient classics and dirty, electronic breaks ‘n techno for audio-pussy lovers everywhere. "Just a perfect day, problems all left alone..."

The Perfect Night mix kicks off with a kinky Princess Superstar accapella timely dropped over some raw electro and techno beats respectively by the sounds of DJ K’s "Plastic People" and El Loco’s "Ibiza", the latter, an Amnesia and Ibiza special that pays tribute to her summer long residencies on the white isle.

Melodic electro tunes of "Vakuum Audio" by Misc continue before the twisted chaos of My My’s "Serpentine"…. Techy punk chopped tones via The Hacker Remix of "Freefall" by Fixmer/McCarthy and the industrial "Base" courtesy of the Chemical Brothers "Base 6".

Going old skool with 4x4 beats by GE & GM and Modeselektor that culminate in the early 90’s Awesome 3 vocal anthem "Don’t Go (Kicks Like A Mule Mix)", with those incredible keys it’s just pure retro revitalised… Slowing down the tempo, and piling on the breaks, "My Red Hot Car" by Squarepusher and the Moby-like "Perfect Girl" by Acrosome finish things off.

CD2, The Perfect Day starts with an intriguing intro with a Si Begg skit "Sting #3 (That’s Good)" followed by the softly, softly half-step trip by Wagon Christ called "Shadows". Dark and dubby breaks continue to Saint Etienne’s vocal "Heart Failed" getting reworked by the Two Lone Swordsmen, blended into the raw tribal "Groove" by Jay Haze.

Rolling basslines and acid effects aplenty in the rare Aphex Twin mix of Curve’s "Falling Free", and leads on to the funky D’n’B tinged beats of "The Knowledge" by Toasty. Kicking back for some blissed out grooves is the aptly titled "Transfer Please, Perfect Wednesday" by Sixtoo and a vocal solo mix by Cassy Lee of Villalobos’ "Easy Lee".

Slowing things right down by the end of the mix, Twine’s chill-out "Kalea Morning" and the accapella by the almighty Christ entitled "Medulla Oblongala". If God is a DJ, Christ is a chill out producer and Miss Kittin is one foxy feline friend to them both.

Another top class Bugged Out Mix released via Resist Music and a wicked personal selection from one of Amenesia’s favourite residents. Miss Kittin’s Perfect Day is an interesting insight into her passion for a heady combo of tough house and dirty breaks.
