Clubbing city of the year : Leeds
Mixmag readers voted Leeds as Mixmag’s Number One Clubbing City for 2004. This year they’ve been getting dressy at Asylum, messy in Basics and letting anything go at Federation. If you can find a sexier crowd than Funkissential, a better dancefloor view than Stinky’s Peephouse or a trendier looking bunch than Technique we’ll eat our Trilby. What other city do you know has disco lights under its rail arches? Any chance of a key to the city?

Club of the Year : Chibuku Shake Shake - Liverpool
Chibuku Shake Shake has been voted ‘Club of the Year 2004’ and ‘Best Northern night’ by the readers of Mixmag. Mixmag is the world’s biggest clubbing and dance music magazine. The club is the only night to top two categories of this years MDMA’s (Mixmag Dance Music Awards) Chibuku has firmly established itself as the unmissable monthly in Liverpool which it can accredit to its diverse line-ups and riotous crowd. Chibuku has grown from four students with £40 to a monthly lock-out in Liverpool not to mention its weekly and monthly offshoots in London. Chibuku Shake Shake also came second in the MDMA for best crowd narrowly missing out to neighbouring night Garlands.
