Progression Sessions is Good Looking Records’ (GLR’s) commitment to getting their unique music out to clubs, giving their audience an opportunity to see GLR’s artists performing on the decks and taking the crowd on an emotive journey that is the Progression Sessions mix.

The Sessions concept was created out of Logical Progression, which was born in December 1995, marking the beginning of a succession of club nights and parties all over the globe. Whilst the famous Logical Progression albums have been a focus for the artists and material contributing to the musical evolution of GLR, the Logical club nights were intended as the vehicle for bringing the music to people in the right surroundings. The Logical nights have given new artists and DJs a chance to perform, whilst also giving GLR’s cutting edge tunes some serious airplay, courtesy of LTJ Bukem. After its celebrated debut at the seminal Ministry of Sound back in December ’95, Logical went global, appearing at various festivals overseas such as Roskilde (Denmark), Germany’s Ten Days of Techno and the famous Montreaux Jazz Festival, where the mighty Intense shook the floorboards with their unique style of live drum & bass. Indeed as the live concept of Logical Progression took off, Progression Sessions was created to continue looking after "up and coming" DJ talent, giving GLR’s new blood a chance to perform and develop. Kicking off with an 8-month residency at the Ministry of Sound from July 98 to February 99, Progression Sessions has built up a solid following, growing into a global phenomenon with gigs in the biggest clubs all over the world. Top venues throughout the USA and Canada, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland and Germany, amongst others, have all played host to the Sessions experience. In the light of this, the commitment of Good Looking’s DJs to spreading the word goes without saying.

Supporting the live events, Progression Sessions mix CDs have also been released, to bring the experience to stereo systems everywhere. The latest Sessions CD is the ninth in the series, brought to us from the man of the moment, Makoto, on his home turf at Club Yellow in Tokyo. Featuring tracks from Drumsound and Simon Bassline Smith, Greg Packer, and Makoto himself and with lyrical layers from Deeizm, it’s another quality Sessions album.
