Radio 1 Returns to WMC 2004 in Style!

Radio 1 returns to South Beach, Miami on 5th and 6th March 2004 for the annual Miami Winter Music Conference. To kick off, Radio 1 will host its first Official WMC pre-party broadcast live on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection. This will be followed up by some more hot live radio shows plus a series of free off-air parties, all held at Nikki’s Beach in the South Beach sunshine.

Miami WMC is the biggest event in the dance music calendar, it is where relationships are forged, deals are struck and the big tunes of the year debut. Across six days (Fri 5th- Weds 10th March), a who’s who billing of legendary DJs play the coolest parties under the sun.

Pete Tong said "Forget Vegas, Miami is really the USA’s number one party town. The WMC will once again showcase the world’s best DJs and the hottest new tunes during an intense six days. This year I am pleased that The Essential Selection will have the honour of kicking off the whole event direct from Nikki’s Beach, it’s going to be hot!"

On-air:
On Friday 5th March, Pete Tong will host the Official WMC pre-party, a free party held in the garden at Nikki’s Beach broadcasting live to the UK. This sexy open air club will host a very special edition of Pete Tong’s Essential Selection show at 1pm Miami time (6pm UK time).

Joining Pete Tong in the hot sunshine is a fantastic line-up of guests. So far confirmed are Paul Oakenfold, Erick Morrillo, Audio Bullys, Armand van Helden, Berhouz, Tyra, Narcotic Thrust, Gus Gus, Dark Globe, Spawn Blonde featuring Jimi Dred, Danny Howells feat Erire, plus off-air guests Lottie, Yousef and Nic Fanciulli.

On Saturday 6th March, Judge Jules and Seb Fontaine host their radio shows from Nikki’s Beach. Special guests on Seb’s show are Junior Jack, Josh Wink and Sandra Collins. Special guests on Judge Jules show will be announced.

Then early on Sunday morning, Radio 1 brings its live broadcasts in Miami to a close with the Essential Mix live from the main stage at The Ultra Festival at 2am-4am UK time.

Off air:
After dark on Friday 5th March, Judge Jules hosts a free party from 11pm to 5am Miami time in Nikki’s Beach downstairs club. On the night, Judge Jules will be joined by Eddie Halliwell and the Cooljunkie DJs to bring on a hot party, with surprise American guests to be confirmed.

Also on Friday night at 11pm to 5am Miami time, Seb Fontaine hosts a free party as part of his renowned ‘Type’ club night together with Lottie’s club night Missdemeanours, surprise guests to be confirmed. The party will be held at Pearl, South Beach’s most glamorous club upstairs at Nikki’s Beach.
