Recoverworld Live Volume 2 - Subculture

Released 1st May 2006
What do you get when you cross two of Hard Dance &Trance’s hottest producers and DJs, mix in some classic anthems, a sprinkle of new productions and put it out on a brand synonymous with quality and innovative sound? "Recoverworld Volume 2 - Subculture". And the DJs in question? Hard Dance’s darling K90, and Trance’s superkid John O’Callaghan.
This album showcases them as representatives of the Recoverworld label group. Both CDs are a combination of their own productions mixed together with tracks that represent their own personal sound. Naturally, there are more than a fair share of tracks from the Recoverworld label - and why not - they produce some of the most upfront tunes on the scene, but these nestle nicely in between epic anthems and remixes from the likes of Rank 1, Public Domain and ATB.
The first CD is mixed by Mark Doggett aka K90 who is one of Hard Dance’s most highly respected producers, as well as a live performer and DJ in his own right. His fan base Touchés many countries around the world, and he has performed at scores of the world’s premier dance events.
The second CD is mixed by John O Callaghan, who for someone so young is far advancing many of his peers in their studio and DJing talents and is attracting the praise and acclaim of some of the biggest names in the dance music world. Having performed across many of the underground trance clubs, John is now making his impact at some of the biggest nights in the UK with his unique brand of tech infused trance sets.
Unleashing some beats that fall just short of the techno bpm, K90 kicks off his "Subculture" mix with vocal breaks and build-ups on the Rank 1 Remix of "Humanity", ATB’s original surrounded by a fierce and twisted hard-dance style. Relentless beats and stomps follow via Darren Christian’s Mix of Woody van Eyden’s "Si-n+r-je".
Trancey build ups and industrial acid drops/beats on the Dave Joy vs Emphasysts Remix of Avanto’s "The Flute" and the legendary DJ Ratty’s "Sunrise" gets a rework by Mark Sherry, breaking to a biblical sized vocal.
The hard trance sounds of Jochen Miller’s remix of "For This Moment" by Silent Electra which skips with melodic, hands-up chords before more carnage ensues on K90’s own "Red Snapper" (remixed by Vinylgroover & The Red Head). An old skool dancefloor anthem re-ignited for the harder generation.
John O’Callaghan’s ambient fusing trance on CD2, opens with the aptly titled, the Intro Mix of "The Chamber" by Inertia and "Homesick" by fellow rising trance DJ, John Askew. Deeper trance and edgy sounds of Sean Tyas’ "Lift" precedes O’Callaghan’s own "Stormy Clouds" (reworked by Greg Downey) both get a worthy inclusion.
More of his very own starry trance sounds in lieu of Thomas Datt’s winding breaks mix of "Chameleon" and the hefty kicks of John’s "Inquiring Minds"… In total there’s no less than 8 mixes and re-edits from J.O, demonstrating his mighty production streak of late.
Three more include the warped acid tech beats of "One Way Ticket", "Cruise Control" & lastly but not leastly "Restricted Motion" getting an incredible Airbase remix.
An exciting underground hard dance ‘n trance compilation, compiled by two of the scenes fastest rising DJ/production stars.
