Riot In Belgium - La Musique

Released 29th January 2007
The new release from Australian based Riot In Belgium is "La Musique", a frenetic, electronic bodyspasm of a tune, a surefire dancefloor winner. From the outset, this tune is an obvious Technotronic anthem, gripping you with the cosmic disco synth stabs and a relentless driving beat. "La Musique" is the duo’s finest moment to date and a frighteningly assuring sign of the next.
Bennie Single and Joel Dickson started making music as Riot In Belgium in 2005. Riot In Belgium’s name is inspired by the pairs shared love of waffles, dark chocolate and Technotronic. Before the pair got together, they had built their individual reputations DJing throughout Australia: Bennie as DJ Damage of The Bang Gang based in Sydney and Joel as DJ Belgium, formerly of Cut Copy and based in Melbourne.
Their first foray into the studio together gave birth to the nu rave monster known as "The Acid Never Lies", a bleeping, driving stormer that brought the duo to the attention of Swiss dance music connoisseur and head of Relish Records, Robi Insinna a.k.a. Headman.
Robi promptly signed them to his Relish imprint where it was released earlier this year gaining acclaim from the likes of Tiga, 2 Many DJs, Cut Copy and Pete Tong. Since their first release, requests came in for Riot In Belgium to remix the likes of K.I.M [The Presets], Sneaky Sound System, new French star Surkin, Freeform Five and their own label boss Headman. They have also been asked to contribute the next instalment in Ministry Of Sound’s Mashed mix series.
"Oh my god there’s a Riot In Belgium!"
