Subliminal Winter Sessions Vol 3 mixed by Jorge Jaramillo

Subliminal Winter Sessions Vol 3 image

Released 23rd March 2006

Erick’s Subliminal Records have been a major player with massive hit productions and club tracks over recent years. With over 150 releases out to date there seems to be no stopping Morillo and his dedicated and vinyl team. On the compilation side of things, they present us with the follow up in their Subliminal Sessions series, this time mixed by one half of Who Da Funk, Jorge Jaramillo, responsible for putting together the latest instalment entitled "Subliminal Winter Sessions Vol 3".

The First CD opens in true Who Da Funk disco-ball style, namely Erick Kupper’s remix of "The Night", their latest club release. The pace quickens with "Say What You Want" by Ian Carey & Mochico, featuring the delightful Miss Bunty.  Thing’s soon get darker with one of the most recent Subliminal releases namely, DJ M’s "Music Is Grooving", while Splash Funk & Funky Junction keep things going with the true "House Muzik" all night long.

The music progresses and takes a turn into electro infused madness with "Crunked Up" by Jorge Jaramillo and Leslie Carter while Jaramillo’s own mix of "The Night" makes a well earned reappearance.  Adding yet more variety to the mix, "Waiting In The Darkness" & Saeed Younan’s "Rock The Rhythm" are thrown in for some tribal flavours. Overall the first CD gives a good idea of what to expect in clubs as it’s jam packed with club hits and some underground styles.

The Second CD takes another route and kicks off with Erick Morillo’s "What Do You Want" featuring Terra Deva. Picking up with "Wake Up America" by The Vintage,  slowly and subtly some tribal elements are thrown in to prepare you for Oliver Moldan’s "Second Sessions".

The mix takes another direction into Blaze’s "Most Precious Love" which adds a funky vibe to the mix, before moving to the electro based "No More Conversations" by Freeform Five with Mylo on the remix duties. A favourite as of late is the outstanding Tocadisco remix of "Walking Away", featured towards the end, while the thumping "Father" by Anthony Rother also makes an appearance (Jorge's Unauthorised Remix).  Jaramillo then closes off with the all calming Scanners track, "Alone", a nice conclusion to this mix.
