The Unsigned Guide (Northwest) Review 2004/2005

Spring last year saw the publication of the first edition of The Unsigned Guide, the only music industry directory compiled specifically for unsigned and emerging bands, musicians and their managers. With the support of Musician’s Union, Cultural Industries Development Services, England’s North West Regional Development Agency and Manchester City Music Network, mcr : music published the definitive centralised source of information for unsigned bands and musicians.
Now the new, fully revised and updated 2004/2005 version of The Unsigned Guide is available containing 640 pages (200 more than last year) of crucial industry information and contacts, the new Unsigned Guide will probably be one of your critical buys of the year.
The 2004/05 edition of The Unsigned Guide also contains some great new information supplied by Radio 1’s OneMusic Team, giving a truly professional and realistic take on the current UK music industry from the perspective of and unsigned or emerging artist, band, manager or producer. In addition, the PRS-MCPS Alliance team have produced a hugely useful Question & Answer section written specifically for readers of The Unsigned Guide.
With new sections, such as press & PR companies, independent promoters (in addition to in-house venue promoters), product distributors and a recommended reading list, The Unsigned Guide will, in words of Guitarist Magazine, give you ‘every contact you’ll ever need’.
Here at Clubbing UK we completely agree, if you're one of those 'I could do better' people still sitting on the sofa, or one of those 'It's not what you know - it's who you know' (only you don't quite have their names and numbers yet), this could be your long lost solution waiting to drop in your lap! Alternatively if you're in need of thousands of contacts in every possible music sector, and believe me there's more to it than you think - this is the one for you to break through!
In music be the food of love, play on! In hear you can find quite literally every contact of every 'bod' who's anyone. This would normally take decades to collect, and nowadays can be picked up for around the same price as a extra large gig ticket! If you're someone that spends a lot on music, this book will be probably pay it's self off before too long anyway - 10% off here, 20% off there, you'd have to be a money wasting, talentless fool to miss it!
Having said all that, if you are a diabolically shit wanna be musician, then no matter how many books you buy - you'll always be shit! Number one rule: make sure you're game's up to scratch (unlike with my recent tennis performances)!
In fact we're even advising people who contact us for start up advice, to try getting their grubby hands on a copy - happy flicking when you order yours.
