Toolbox Volume One - Mixed By Nik Denton & Paul King

Toolbox Volume One image

Released 30th January 2005

In the words of the king of hard dance himself: "5 years already and it only seems like yesterday" Yes Andy that’s right… 5 whole years and to celebrate the boys at Toolbox have braved their most exciting challenge to date…. A double disc album mixed by two of the labels biggest artists, NIK DENTON and PAUL KING, and is packed full with tracks from the labels first half a decade in the industry.

Covering the first disc is label head honcho Nik Denton. Hand picked by the man himself, disc one is a fusion of Nik’s favourite Toolbox releases old and new.  Flawlessly mixed, taking you from the trademark funky sound of Toolbox, right through to the fierce end of the hard house spectrum!  For true followers of Toolbox, this disc is priceless…

Hard Dance experts will already know that although Paul King has been producing hard dance for over a decade and has played at some of the world’s largest dance events, this is the first time he has recorded a set to be released as a compilation… Paul King fans, "We know it has been a long wait, but you will not be disappointed".  With every track and remix penned by Paul for Toolbox included in his mix, as well as the inclusion of his exclusive remix of "I’ll Be There" by 99th Floor Elevators, you are guaranteed a hard house workout that will not be found on any other compilation.

Both discs also include two bonus tracks each. The already mentioned Paul King remix of "I’ll Be There" is available as a full length 12 inch single, along with Paul’s mix of the classic "Save The Day" by Diss-Cuss.  The Testube Babies remix of Aftermaths "Underworld" joins the much talked about Dave Owens mix of "Alright" by F1 as the two remaining exclusive tracks.  "Alright" has been confirmed as the 30th release on the label, but this mix will never be released on vinyl.

Its true to say that Toolbox has grown over the years, becoming one of the most respected labels on the hard dance scene and unlike some, is still here to break new artists and is still here staying true to the sound of hard house. This album will undoubtedly will be everything a Toolbox fan expects and more… And for those that don’t know Toolbox, you will now...

An exhilarating and breath-taking mix of pure hard-dance goodness, altogether brilliant and banging from start to finish - Toolbox Volume One is a must for all true fans of the hard stuff!
